Tallow-Based Skincare: My experience
With all of the skincare products out there, it seems impossible to find one that is natural and actually works. I’ve finally found my favorite.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking of grease dripping from a pan when someone says tallow. You’re thinking omg I’m gonna smell like beef like that little girl from vine said. You’re thinking ew no way.
All I’m saying is to try it once. You see, I’ve had problem skin since I was 15 and I’m 31 now. It’s been a ROUGH journey. The main thing that helped is drastically decreasing my simple carbohydrates load and balancing protein, fats, and carbs in every meal and snack I eat.
But you still gotta wash your face right?
I ordered the Primally Pure clarifying bar, clarifying oil and the clarifying balm plus the deodorant—along with the baby bar and soap for my girl.
My routine goes like this.
Apply clarifying oil to the face and work it around for one full minute. This picks up excess oil and stuff from your pores because oil attracts oil.
Then I put a warm washcloth over my face and let it sit for a few seconds.
After wiping my face with the washcloth, I then lather up the soap bar into my hands and massage my face and rinse it clean.
The final step is applying the clarifying balm. This is sooo nice and it feels like you’re truly doing something to help your skin heal and form a moisture barrier.
Tallow has been used forever and I think it’s about time we get back to our roots for health of our skin and bodies overall!
(I did use the deodorant but I get chemical burns under my arms when I use baking soda based bars, I’ll update you on my favorite natural deodorant)
